Bad boy Troy Jacobs is all about taking risks. As a stunt double for Hollywood’s A-listers, there’s no fall he won’t attempt. With one exception—women. Troy fell hard once, and it nearly broke him. Since then, he’s vowed never to trust like that again and he’s got everything under control. Until the woman who shattered his heart years before shows up on his movie-set.
Country music star Giselle “Ellie” Diamond learned long ago that sometimes love isn’t enough. When love got in the way of her goals, she made the tough choice to let go of happily ever after and chased the glitz and glamour of the stage. It may not be all she expected, but now it’s all she has. And with a worldwide tour on the line, Ellie needs one last gig to rocket her toward stardom: a high-profile role in a blockbuster film.
Passion sparks, and old feelings return. But while Troy and Ellie grow closer their problems from the past simmer in the background. And this time around, there’s more tearing them apart than just one star-studded career.

I love the Renegades series: sexy stuntmen with a hint of Hollywood glamour and the smart, brave, strong women who can match them. So I was delighted to get my hands on this latest installment, with bad-boy Troy in the hot seat. And whoa, is it hot! This novel starts off as the hottest Renegades yet, with Troy going to a sex club and meeting a masked woman from his past. It’s spicy and sensual, a little bit kinky, and all very, very sexy.
Away from the club, however, this book lives up to its name. Because Troy and Giselle/Ellie have a history. A long history, that started back when they were teenagers and has been on hiatus for seven years. Their young love was passionate and limitless, until Ellie’s career wrenched them apart. Now there’s grief and longing and loss between them, as well as resentment and hurt. Which is where the title comes in, because this history and hurt is rehashed over and over in relentless fashion, with both past and present actions coming back to reinforce the angst.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved this book. It’s still a sexy stuntman doing dangerous things, with a smart woman more than capable of holding her own against him. But the angst. Oh my, the angst! Whenever you think they might be over it, it comes back, or Troy does something stupid or Ellie turns stubborn, and it all starts again. If not for the other characters (I loved Ellie’s assistant, and I have high hopes of a return from stuntwoman Zahara) and the sexiness this could have become a bit tedious. As it was it just made me want the pair of them to grow up and talk about the future and figure out a compromise already!
Overall, though, this has everything I want and expect from this series – it’s hot, has some great action (some of which does not contain sex – imagine!), fun characters, heightened emotion and a wonderful array of friendships. It might have been nice to have seen Ryker with the pair of them, since he supposedly doesn’t approve, but beyond that this story wraps up so sweetly and left me wanting more, more and so much more.
Relentless is out June 22nd!
