What’s a little fantasy between strangers…
Bedded by the Bad Boy
When Dr. Janny Baird winds up on an Aleutian island, this good-girl is so far from home she’s willing to indulge in a little fantasy – like hopping on the back of a stranger’s motorcycle for one wild, erotic ride.
Taken by the Tycoon
Last night’s stranger is barely recognizable in a suit, which leads to another fantasy night together where the very restrained doctor gives him total control.
Claimed by the Cowboy
Back home on the Caribbean island of Anguilla, Janny is stunned to find her fantasy has taken over her reality. Nik Hansen is literally a cowboy, staking a claim on the island, and on her

This is the first book of this series that I’ve read and I have to admit it did take me a while to get into it. Simply because there is no lead in, the reader is thrown right into the opening scene with secret brothers on one side and an enormous family on the other, and to be honest it took me a while to work out what was going on. This probably wasn’t helped by my ARC copy, which didn’t have any visible scene breaks, so I sometimes found myself reading a line of dialogue that suddenly made no sense. Hopefully, this won’t be an issue in the official release copy.
However, despite the slightly confusing beginning, the rest of this book flows along quite nicely, with a mix of fantasy fulfillment, hot sex and a rather troubled heroine. I found Janny a bit hard to like at times. She’s very prickly and opinionated, and while I sympathised with her for her family situation, she doesn’t always treat Nik very well. Nik, on the other hand, is lovely – hot, sweet and determined.
Not that there’s time for a lot of emotional stuff in this book, because it is a pretty short read dominated by the hot fantasy scenes. Which were definitely scorching, drifting into kinky at times, with moments of domination, spanking and plenty of role-play. If you prefer more straightforward, vanilla moments, then this might not be for you, but if you don’t mind a mild hint of BDSM then this is definitely the strong point of this novel. In fact aside from a bit of angst about learning to let fantasies go in favour of the real thing, this book really is all about the sex.
Which isn’t a bad thing, it’s just the story also mixes in family issues – heavy expectations on Nik’s side, revealing secrets on Janny’s – and because of the short length I didn’t think either these of plot lines were given enough time to really flourish. In fact although the romance reaches a sweet, satisfying (if a little rushed) end, Janny’s story in particular left very unfinished. I take it that the series isn’t finished and that will be tied up in the next book, but it left me a little annoyed because of one particular scene which I would have liked decent closure on.
Overall this is an okay book. It is very sexy and the fantasy side of things is good and enjoyable, but the rest felt a little rushed or under-developed. If you’re already a fan of this series then you’ll likely enjoy this one, but if you’re new I think it might be better to start with one of the earlier books, because although I did enjoy this, I’m not all that interested in reading the others – although I would like to see more of these particular two and how their story unfolds next.
