A sexy category romance from Entangled’s Brazen imprint…

When fantasy and reality collide…

There’s nothing like a near death experience to make a guy reassess his life. And that’s exactly what nightclub owner Logan McCabe decides to do, starting with looking up the girl he spent one wild night with eleven years ago, right before his life turned to crap. He spent a year fantasizing about her. Now he’s ready to see how reality matches up.

Imogen Parker is a perfectionist. She’s only strayed from the straight and narrow once in her life, on her eighteenth birthday. It was supposed to be one wild night with a totally unsuitable man before she settled into her sensible future. Instead it changed her life forever.

Logan might still be the sexiest man Imogen has ever seen, but a dirty-talking, tattooed, ex-con is the last thing she needs in her perfect life. He claims she’s his fantasy girl, but what he doesn’t know is she’s also the mother of his ten-year old daughter…

Mixing a bit of second chance romance in with the one that got away and a hefty dose of opposites attracting in the hottest way and you get this little bundle of fantasy fulfillment. Logan is a bad boy who isn’t really as bad as he looks and Abby is a good girl close to buckling under the pressure of expectation. Together they create more than just sparks – they also have a ten year old daughter, which is about to be big news to Logan.

I really enjoyed this one. It’s easy and sexy and has the right hint of fun to balance the emotional entanglements. Logan’s the kind of man who learned early on not to care what people think about him, because they’re always going to think the worst. Instead after one big mistake that led to an extra harsh punishment, he’s picked himself up and made a success of his life. By contrast Abby has spent her life trying to please everyone but herself, she also made a mistake that changed her life, but she used it to redirect her dreams. So while Logan doesn’t care what anyone thinks about him, Abby cares far too much. Even without the ex-con and cop aspect, the pair of them are complete opposites on the surface.

In the bedroom, however, they’re a perfect match. Logan has a lot of fantasies stored up awaiting Abby’s participation, and since she’s never really let herself go – except with Logan – she’s more than willing to help him out. If it was just down to the fantasies they might never have gone any deeper with their relationship, but there’s Jenny to think about – their ten daughter. I loved how quickly Logan accepts her and likewise how Jenny builds a relationship with him. With that connection it’s easy to see how Logan and Abby would build more and find common ground. Not least because they are intensely loyal to those they love and both know how hard they have to work to fulfill their dreams.

This story is about more than just sex, but the sex itself is pretty hot. The fantasies keep things interesting throughout, especially when Logan begins to realise that Abby is more than just a fantasy girl. Beyond the sex there’s also a nice bit of flirting, more than a touch of sensual teasing and plenty of family moments to provide background. Add in Abby’s career issues and this book makes for an enjoyable read that I found absorbing as well as sexy. I look forward to seeing what happens with Logan’s friends and their own quests for happiness.
