A sexy category romance novella from Entangled’s Brazen imprint…
He’ll unlock her wildest fantasies…
Private investigator Curtis Jagger has always had a thing for Alix Harris. She was the darling of their high school—gorgeous, popular, class president…and, he suspects, just as naughty as she is nice. Now Jag has the opportunity to show her what she’s missing. To show her that sometimes being bad can be sexy as hell…
Alix has always done what she’s supposed to, and it’s gotten her exactly nowhere. Determined to please herself—in every way possible—she accepts Jag’s mysterious invitation to his ranch. In front of Jag’s camera lens, Alix finds freedom far beyond her expectations. A freedom where she takes the reins and rides out every wicked desire.
But in one week, Alix will have to return to her real world where politics reign. A world that can’t include Jagger, or she’ll lose everything.

The last of these one that got away/high school crush novellas ends the series with a bang as Good Girl Alix unleashes her voyeuristic side with Private Investigator Jag. Despite Alix arriving on the ranch in a state of emotional turmoil – thanks to discovering her fiancé’s very pregnant mistress – there’s no hanging about in this book. Alix might talk about how she’s not going to jump into bed with Jag, but she does, of course, right on the first night – and doesn’t bother getting out again.
Actually, Alix does that a lot. Whether it’s thinking about not sleeping with Jag, or not falling for him, no sooner are these words read then she’s doing the complete opposite, which is kind of annoying. Then again, this book really isn’t about the plot. Which is good, because out of the three novellas this is the one that feels thinnest. Neither Alix nor Jag are explored too deeply, and even the things we know about them (Alix’s political connections, Jag’s PI business) have absolutely no bearing on their actions or decisions.
Basically this is a hot, quick read where two people have lots of sex and don’t think too deeply about it. It is sexy, but personally I need a bit more from the characters or the plot to make it memorable. If you’re looking for something deeper, this isn’t it, but if you want something quick and dirty, then this whole series is worth a try. I’d recommend Slow Ride, though, since not only is it the first but it’s also the one I liked most.
Sweet Ride is out November 16th!
