The second book in this heart-warming series about the residents of Poppy’s Place cat café!

Isla is overjoyed that Mum has agreed to look into the idea of opening a cat café. It means Poppy and Roo can be the family’s forever cats, and there’ll be lots of other cats coming and going, too! But as they research the idea, the ‘to do’ list just gets longer. Can the family rally together to solve the problems or will this be the end of Isla’s dream?

Isla is back and more in love with cats than ever. This time things are a little more complicated, with Isla starting a new school, more cats in need of help and the café itself still needing a lot of work before it can open.

Where the last book was all about the excitement of Isla finally having a cat of her own and coming up with the idea for the cat café, this time things are more sensible, with real problems like dreaded forms and inspections threatening to ruin it all. Yet there are still plenty of cute cats to enjoy, old favourites to remember and some new stars to fall in love with. We also get to see more of Isla’s family as everyone pitches in to help Isla’s dream come true.

Every bit as enjoyable and fun as the first one, with lovely illustrations from Lucy Truman to encourage less confident readers and also put faces to all the names, this is a great continuation to the series. Perfect for young animal lovers, especially those with a special cat-shaped space in their hearts. I look forward to seeing where this series heads next.

Trouble and the Cat Café is out July 14th!
