Author: Heather McGovern
Series: Honeywilde Romance #1
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Length: Novel
Available: 16th Aug

Nestled in the lush green mountains of North Carolina, the Honeywilde Inn will be a romantic’s dream getaway—if only the Bradley siblings can keep it running. It will take a combination of hard work, good luck, and the kind of love that dreams are made of…
Roark Bradley is no stranger to responsibility. Growing up, he practically raised his younger siblings while his parents threw themselves into working the inn—and arguing with each other. Determined to make the Honeywilde shine once more, Roark jumps at the chance to conduct business with a no-nonsense event planner who approaches him about celebrity nuptials that could put the inn back on the map. If only it wasn’t so tempting to discuss some no-strings attached pleasure with her instead…
Madison Kline is done with weddings—at least personally. Her own youthful mistake is a well-guarded secret, and one she refuses to repeat. But as she and bold, broad-shouldered Roark work together to make a rock star couple’s wedding a reality, she finds herself wishing romance didn’t feel like a four-letter word. Can either of them surrender their hard-won independence and workaholic ways for something sweeter—and even more rewarding?…

This was a cute, enjoyable read about two workaholics who love to be in control, somehow finding their perfect match in each other. One has no family at all, while the other has more family than he can handle, and together they’re attempting to throw a highly original wedding, despite their own cynical feelings about romance and the scorching chemistry between them. Complete with a gorgeous backdrop and spectacular sunsets. What’s not to love?

I really enjoyed this. Madison is driven, has a whole heap of issues and isn’t always the easiest woman to get along with. However, she is exceedingly good at her job and very good for Roark. I loved the relationship between these two, and seeing how it softened Madison without weakening her was a delight to read.

I loved Roark. He might not always know how to handle his brothers, but the way he works with Madison is amazing. He’s never intimidated by her competence or comes close to feeling belittled by her confidence. All he wants to do is make her smile and laugh and look at him with that special glint in her eye. They’re such a great couple and the chemistry between them is scorching.

However, I will admit that Madison came close to testing my patience a time or two. Yes, she has issues, and yes, she has very good reasons for those, but she does also blow up at Roark far too easily at times. A time or two he does push her a bit, but mostly it’s her, hiding behind her issues and avoiding seeing the amazing things that are right in front of her.

It’s not all about these two, though, and the glimpses we get of the other Bradley siblings is very intriguing. Honeywilde is a great setting with plenty of stories to tell, and I can’t wait to read more about them.

A Moment of Bliss is out August 16th!
