Still struggling with his recent breakup, Alexander runs headlong—literally—into a witch who leaves him far less than human. Now a wise-cracking cat with a taste for expensive clothes, he is forced to live with the ex he can’t get over and help the man find someone who will finally make him happy.

This is just the cutest read. Alex is a cat – he hasn’t always been a cat, but a careless run in with a witch has left him diminutively feline and the only person he could turn to help was his ex. The man he still loves, but is determined to find happiness for because it’s what Ethan deserves.

I love Alex, it’s almost impossible not to. He’s smart and funny and really loves Ethan. Plus he picks fights with crows, writes books and wears designer shirts. And is a cat. I loved every furry inch of him and his snarky ways as he slowly realises a few very important things.

I loved Ethan too, a man with much on his mind and who clearly still cares a great deal for the ex that never quite went away. The two of them together are adorable, and I loved the various mini-adventures that were unleashed in this short but charming read.

If you’re looking for a short pick me up that will make you smile and also sigh with cuteness, then give this a go. It’s quick and charming, and possibly a tiny bit too cheesy towards the end, but my only real complaint is that I could have read so much more of it.

Puss in Prada is out April 19th.
